Photo Trip: Kalamay & Suman Vendor

Kalamay, also spelled Calamay, is a sticky sweet delicacy that is popular in many regions of the Philippines. It is made of coconut milk, brown sugar, and ground glutinous rice. They can also be flavored with margarine, peanut butter, or vanilla. Kalamay can be eaten alone but is usually used as a sweetener for a number of Filipino desserts and beverages. It is similar to the Chinese Nian gao (also known as tikoy in the Philippines) but is sweeter and more viscous.

Suman is a rice cake originating from the Philippines. It is made from glutinous rice cooked in coconut milk, and often steamed in banana leaves. It is served wrapped in buli or buri palm (Corypha) leaves and usually eaten sprinkled with sugar. Suman is also known as Budbud in Visayan dialects in other parts of the Philippines.

-Reflection-

As a newbie photographer I called this a "reflection" because of it's beauty looks reflected at its other.

-In Science-
A mirror image is a reflected duplication of an object that appears identical but reversed. As an optical effect it results from reflection off of substances such as a mirror or water. It is also a concept in geometry and can be used as a conceptualization process for 3-D structures.

Road Trip: Lemery's Town Fiesta

Location: Lemery, Batangas

I always visit this place when I made a transaction to a bank, but this is my first time to visit Lemery, Batangas on its Fiesta. Lemery is a first class Municipality in Batangas because of it's establishment. I thought that they have their festival called "Tinapa Festival" but they did not celebrate it this year with their patron saint St. Roque.

Street Food @ Calaca

Street food is ready-to-eat food or drink sold in a street or other public place, such as a market or fair, by a hawker or vendor, often from a portable stall. While some street foods are regional, many are not, having spread beyond their region of origin. Most street food are both finger and fast food. Street food costs less than a restaurant meal. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization, 2.5 billion people eat street food every day.
Street food is intimately connected with take-out, junk food, snacks, and fast food; it is distinguished by its local flavour and by being purchased on the street, without entering any building. Both take-out and fast food are often sold from counters inside buildings.
